Can I learn programming if I am over 40s?

As a friend of someone who recently decided to learn programming at the age of 40, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the amazing transformation that can occur when you challenge yourself to learn something new. My friend’s journey has inspired me to write about the possibilities for others who are considering learning programming later in life.

It’s a common misconception that you have to start learning programming at a young age to be successful in the field. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth! Age is just a number, and it’s never too late to learn something new and pursue a passion. In fact, many people in their 40s and beyond have made successful careers in programming, including my friend!

My friend was motivated to learn programming for a few reasons. They had always been interested in technology, but never pursued it as a career. However, as they approached their 40s, they felt a sense of urgency to make a career change and pursue something they were passionate about. Additionally, they wanted to be able to understand and participate in the technology-driven world around them.
